We are currently accepting applications for a Junior level attorney interested in tax resolution for FULL TRAINING as a member of our Phase One attorney team in our Hato Rey office.

Community Tax first opened its Puerto Rico office in Guaynabo in August of 2017, remains strong and growing in 2026. Our offices are conveniently located in Hato Rey. and our hybrid work structure provides work/life balance while providing a collaborative environment with coworkers.

Job Summary:

This position requires a self-starter with the ability to think and work independently with a capacity for understanding financial concepts. Our attorneys represent taxpayers on resolution matters through negotiations with the IRS, and state taxing authorities. This includes but is not limited to submitting/negotiating IRS Offers in Compromise, Innocent Spouse requests, Penalty Abatement requests, Installment Agreements defense of seizure actions, Appeals, and more. It is challenging but rewarding work as we provide life changing results for our clients in a fast paced, high-volume environment.

The Phase One team team works in a structured, collaborative environment where attorneys focus on analysis, strategy, and execution—not high-volume client calls. This position is ideal for newly licensed or junior attorneys who enjoy research, analytical work, and drafting resolution strategies . Phase One Attorneys at Community Tax focus on reviewing IRS transcripts and case documentation, identifying compliance issues, and developing clear, well-supported tax resolution strategies.

NEWLY LICENSED ATTORNEYS interested in tax work are encouraged to apply . Previous Tax experience is NOT required. We provide comprehensive training in tax. Some working knowledge in state and federal tax law is a plus, but is not required.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Investigate and diagnose a client's individual and/or business tax problems
  • Draft solution-oriented recommendations, addressing specific clients' tax issues in a high volume fast paced environment
  • Use strong analytical ability to conduct tax related research
  • Regular communication with both the IRS and relevant State Taxing Authorities
  • Manage case files in a productive, efficient, and organized manner
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the CTAX team: Case Advocates, Sales Associates, Tax Preparers, and fellow Practitioners to achieve best possible resolution

Significant post Law School experience NOT required as we provide comprehensive training – However you MUST be licensed.

  • Ideal is an Entry Level L icensed Attorney with some tax or accounting/finance experience or education
    • If you recently passed the Bar Exam, you are encouraged to apply
  • Tax Clinic experience while in Law School a significant plus
  • Proficient with technology, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required

Education and Other Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited Law School
  • Active bar license in any U.S. jurisdiction
  • Strong research, analytical and writing skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ideal candidate will have a strong desire to develop and grow in the field of tax resolution
  • Able to balance a high volume work load
  • Strong attention to detail
