Overview

Senior Decision Scientist, Operations Research at Delta Air Lines. The Operations Research - Optimization team applies leading-edge optimization techniques to build state-of-the-art decision support tools in a fast-paced environment. The role focuses on developing advanced planning and disruption management solutions to continually improve airline performance and operational efficiencies.

What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable quantitative field
• 3+ years' experience in scientist or analyst capacity
• Strong background in modeling, optimization, and algorithms
• Experience in designing, developing and implementing optimization tools
• Excellent programming skills (C++, Python)
• Experience in using commercial optimization solvers such as CPLEX, Gurobi and Xpress
• Experience with algebraic modeling language such as AMPL
• Experience with GIT and DevOps
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and prioritizations skills
• Ability to work well collaboratively and independently
• Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data
• Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles
• Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
• Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

• 1+ year of airline experience, particularly in the Disruption Management field
• Experience in developing and deploying applications to AWS
