Registered Behavior Technicians needed near Carlsbad, CA area

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) – School-Based
Location: Carlsbad, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–2:00 PM
Start Date: July (for onboarding and student team meetings)
School Year: 2025–2026 Academic Year
Compensation: $20–$30/hour, based on experience and skillset

Overview:
We are seeking two dedicated Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to support students within the Carlsbad, CA area for the 2025–2026 school year. Both positions are school-based and require availability in July for introductory meetings with the district team.

• Position 1: 1:1 assignment supporting a middle school student

• Position 2: Floater role supporting multiple students across district sites as needs arise

Daily Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct 1:1 or small group behavior support services to students with behavioral, developmental, or academic challenges

• Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)

• Support students in general education and/or special education classrooms throughout the school day

• Assist with the development of socially appropriate behaviors and classroom routines

• Track and record behavioral data accurately and in a timely manner

• Monitor student progress and communicate updates to supervising staff and BCBA

• Assist with toileting, feeding, mobility, and other self-care needs when applicable

• Collaborate closely with school personnel, district teams, and other service providers to ensure consistency in behavioral support

• Participate in IEP meetings or district trainings when requested

• Maintain student confidentiality and uphold all district and HIPAA/FERPA requirements

Qualifications:

• Active RBT certification required

• Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric behavioral health setting preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently, take direction, and adapt to dynamic environments

• Must be available for student/district meetings beginning in July

Compensation:
$20–$30 per hour, based on experience, certifications, and assignment scope
