Job Description
JOB TITLE: Furniture Packer
SUPERVISOR: Shipping Lead
DESCRIPTION:
The primary function of the Furniture Packer is to ensure weekly freight and bulky furniture orders are picked and packed appropriately, on time, ready for pick up, with the correct documentation.
FURNITURE PACKER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support Shipping Lead and Logistics Manager with order fulfillment by packing weekly freight and furniture orders.
Work with Shipping Lead and Warehouse Floor Manager on daily/weekly priorities.
Execute daily/weekly packing needs for furniture items.
Support in picking and packing weekly furniture transfers and seasonal floor moves from Warehouse to retail stores.
Support drivers in loading and unloading furniture from trucks.
Ensure furniture is binned and labeled correctly within the warehouse.
Work with the floor manager to make sure the product is off the floor and following safety guidelines.
Make sure packing standards are met and ensure items are getting packed with sufficient protection.
Meet with weekly freight companies and ensure BOLs are signed for.
Ensure all freight shipments are properly packaged and labeled for transit.
Support Shipping lead in box/packaging supplies inventory and submit reorder to Shipping Lead when inventory gets low.
Follow company policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
FURNITURE PACKER QUALIFICATIONS:
1-2 years of warehouse experience preferably in home decor or interiors.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Strong communication skills
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Computer and ERP systems experience.
Team player
Proactive and a problem solver
Ability to lift and mobilize large items, up to 100 lbs. while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
