Aloft San Jose Cupertino is currently searching for a Part-Time Bartender (Monday - Friday) for our W XYZ Bar to join our growing team. As a Bartender, you'll be responsible for providing the highest level of service possible in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner. To perform this job successfully, the ideal candidate will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently, with or without reasonable accommodation. What you will be responsible for: Mixing, garnishing, and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to company specifications Assessing bar customers’ needs and preferences and making recommendations Taking orders and making guests feel taken care of during their time at the restaurant or event Keeping the bar stocked and clean while Provide friendly and attentive service Adhering to company standards for serving alcoholic beverages Utilizing Toast – ordering, check presentation, payment processing. Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving. Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items (including daily specials), prices, preparation method/time, major ingredients, and quality standards of taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, garnish, and method of presentation. Greet guests and suggest beverage order, utilizing upselling techniques. Monitor and anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests even when busy. Maintain positive guest relations. Be familiar with all hotel services/features, and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately. Essential to succeed in this role: Proven experience as a bartender. Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages. Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks. Computer literacy. Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean. Fun, outgoing personality, with excellent communication skills. Promptness and reliable attendance. Knowledge of fine wines, beer, and liquor. Food Handler certified Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certified Shashi Group is an inclusive environment.
