We are looking for an Accounting Assistant in Plano, Texas, to join our team on a Contract-to-Ongoing basis. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills and experience in accounts receivable, collections, and reconciliations. The position involves managing customer accounts, processing payments, and ensuring accuracy in financial transactions.

Responsibilities:
• Communicate with customers regarding their accounts to provide assistance and resolve inquiries.
• Handle collections tasks, including making friendly reminder calls and processing payments.
• Manage both inbound and outbound calls, averaging 15-30 calls daily using Avaya systems.
• Oversee account territories, handling approximately 200+ accounts with varying dollar amounts.
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
• Process accounts receivable cash applications and accept credit card payments.
• Enter bills related to credit card payments and assist in cutting checks.
• Collaborate with team members to manage accounts receivable for assigned territories.
• Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to streamline processes and maintain records.
• Support auditing efforts by ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial documentation.• Proven experience in accounts receivable and collections, preferably in a commercial setting.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems and ERP platforms.
• Strong knowledge of financial processes, including bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Familiarity with NetSuite or similar accounting tools is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills to handle inquiries and payment discussions.
• Ability to multi-task and manage high volumes of accounts efficiently.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in financial transactions.
• Previous experience in auditing or assisting with compliance efforts is a plus.
