We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Mankato, Minnesota. In this role, you will provide crucial support to the accounting department by managing accounts payable and receivable, performing bank reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records. Responsibilities:
• Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations to maintain up-to-date and balanced financial records.
• Utilize QuickBooks to create, update, and manage financial transactions and data.
• Accurately code invoices and ensure proper documentation for auditing purposes.
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures by verifying and organizing financial data.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and statements as required by the accounting department.
• Collaborate with team members to address discrepancies and resolve accounting issues promptly.
• Maintain organized and secure records of financial transactions and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards in all financial activities.
• Communicate effectively with vendors and clients to resolve payment or billing inquiries.• Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable operations.
• Strong proficiency in performing bank reconciliations and maintaining balanced records.
• Hands-on expertise with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Ability to accurately code invoices and maintain proper documentation.
• Familiarity with accounting principles and practices, including month-end and year-end processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with team members, vendors, and clients.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a contract-based role.
